It plays a crucial role in the AC cycle by compressing the low-pressure gas from the evaporator into a high-pressure, high-temperature gas. This process increases the refrigerant's pressure and temperature, preparing it for the heat release in the condenser. Condenser: The condenser coil is also part of the outdoor unit. As the high-pressure, high-temperature gas passes through the condenser coil, it releases its heat to the outside air and condenses back into a high-pressure liquid. It allows the high-pressure liquid refrigerant to expand and become a low-pressure, low-temperature liquid, which can then absorb heat from the indoor air in the evaporator. The Refrigeration Cycle The refrigeration cycle is a continuous process of heat absorption and dissipation, facilitated by the change of state of the refrigerant. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown: Evaporation: The low-pressure liquid refrigerant absorbs heat from the indoor air as it passes through the evaporator coil, causing the refrigerant to evaporate into a low-pressure gas. The cooled air is then circulated back into the living space. Compression: The low-pressure gas is drawn into the compressor, which compresses it into a high-pressure, high-temperature gas.
